Emoticons

Several new ones (I hadn't updated for a while).

Thanks to all y'all!
The latest addition is from Rose, who also sparked a new category: IM emoticons. Thanks Rose! (And apologies to those who sent in emoticons between April 2000 and September 2003. I've been behind, but promise to catch up and post your submissions too.)
P.S. Thanks also to all who sent in "naughty" emoticons. I appreciate them, but just so you know, I don't post even the slightly risque ones. Oh my, self-censorship at work :)

I've collected emoticons over the years, and I've added new ones that visitors to this web site have sent in (thanks :D). I'd love to add more. If you've got a new one, send it in! (OK, famous figures and things aren't *really* emoticons by the "emotional icon" definition, but they are expressive. Besides, they're fun.)

How and why do you use emoticons? Let me know by filling out the emoticon questionnaire.

Go to the Emoticon Questionnaire.
Go to the Listening Questionnaire.
Return to the Beyond Words page.
